CASE STUDY - TAMIL FESTIVAL

Tamil Festival & marquee construction

TAMIL FESTIVAL

The Tamil Festival is the biggest festival of it’s kind in Europe.

SPECIFICATIONS

This event was planned for 30,000 people in the XL centre. Due to unforeseen circumstances another venue was needed post haste. We stepped to the plate and with a week before the event date we had to set up emergency round the clock meetings and managed all aspects of the event. The key to our success was calling in favours from teams in all sectors of the industry. With an unparalleled reputation in the industry Big Events were able to pull of an event that many thought impossible.

The festival used the whole range of infrastructure from simple awning covers to soft side rooms and giant structures. Our wide range of structures gave us the opportunity to tailor our service to the unique requirements of the venue.

Notably, each structure had its own unique interior requirements..

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 x 20m x 50m structures (joined)
  • 12m x 6m stage
  • 9m x 15m welcome marquee
  • 12m x 30m dining marquee (joined to function hall)
  • Full stage lighting
  • Live PA sound systems
  • Comprehensive audio visual outlet
  • Live video link
  • Luxury portable toilets

CASE STUDY BRIEF

To supply all of the structures for the South Asian ‘Heroes’ event for over 20’000 people.  The key feature was 2 joined up 20mx40m structures.

CHALLENGES

A Further challenge was to ensure that we were fully briefed and factored into our planning all cultural considerations.

OUTCOME

Awe-struck clients were very impressed! A very successful festival that was not impeded by bad weather has meant that we have already negotiated alike contracts for the following year.
